11 Harsh Lessons That Made Me A Better Human Being

2024 is coming..

Hey my friend,

Over the past week, I've indulged in a period of disconnection.

I'm talking about little to no email, social media or work-related activities...

And it's been beautiful!

For me, slowing down always helps me to speed up in every area of my life.

Stillness is underrated in a world filled with so much external noise, right!?

In light of that, I wanted to end 2023's final newsletter on a reflective note.

Today, I'd love to share 11 lessons that I've learned over the years which have stuck to me like glue.

My goal is for just one of these to stick with you too!

Let's get into it.

11 harsh lessons that made me a better human being

1. Toxic friendships are suffocating, but ambivalent ones are the silent killers.

2. Making “BIG” decisions requires intellectual AND intuitive awareness.

3. Your triggers are mirrors, secretly showing you where inner work is required.

4. Learning how to say “no” with warmth is a superpower.

5. Who we become tomorrow is down to the stories we tell ourselves today.

6. Want true charisma? Become deeply comfortable in your own skin.

7. After a certain point, clarity is revealed from action… not thought.

8. If you’re seeking answers, find solitude versus external opinions.

9. Everything happens for you, not to you.

10. Chase behaviours, not outcomes.

11. Craft a vision of your life from a place of joy, not insecurity.

In summary

The above 11 lessons continue to serve me as a father, husband, speaker, entrepreneur and more.

For that, I'm grateful.

Have an incredible end to 2023 and thank you for keeping me in your inbox...

It means a ton and I'll see you on the other side.

Much love,

P.S. Whenever you're ready, here is 1 way I can support you:

1. [B2B SALES TEAMS & ORGANIZATIONS ONLY] Book me for a storytelling keynote or workshop: Whether it's in person or virtual, to an intimate audience or a room full of thousands, learn more about how your audience can become influential storytellers at your next sales kickoff, offsite or conference.
